Can anyone else relate?

Okay I try not to be one of those parents of the two year old that the kid runs the house. However my two-year-old does run certain things! LOL

Come on! Let's be realistic! We all know when a two-year-old wants something and that's what he wants there is no going back from that.

Prime example: So my husband and I tried to go to dinner the other night and this restaurant was a little slow. (We kind of knew that going in.) However, when Adam is done eating everyone needs to be done eating. Pack it up. Let’s move out. Or I'm going to have a screaming fit because I don't want to sit in this chair anymore. I am done, therefore you are done. Right Mama and Daddy?

Please. please tell me it’s not just me.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am NOT saying my son is that dreaded B R A T word. LOL I am just saying his two year old attention span doesn’t go well with leisurely enjoying a meal at a restaurant. Nope. Nada. Game over.

So let’s talk Doctor’s appointments.

I don't understand why doctors offices haven't figured this out yet? You know how when you go to a restaurant like Olive Garden they give you those little red square things that light up when it's your turn? Hallelujah to that! Why don't they implement THAT in the doctor's office! HECK YEAH!

Why have a squirming child sit in the office (while trying to avoid the most awful disgusting germs) if you could go take a walk or keep your kid in the car and drive around? For the love of Pete! Keep them occupied with a video that's much easier than having them sit in a waiting room with a bunch of other sick kids. Even if they're well or sick you're exposing them to all those things and they're totally restless.

What are you supposed to do with him in the office? And yes, I'm a germaphobe and I don't want him touching anything. And yes, even as I am writing this I know that's ridiculous. Believe me. I know. I get it. :)

Okay, then it’s the birthday parties, cookouts, get togethers, etc. LOL

You had friends before you had a kid. You would go to parties, socialize, enjoy your time doting on your friend’s kids. What a life. Now… hmmm….. Don’t touch that. It’s breakable. Stop running. Oh god, are you hurt?!

You spend the entire time running after a toddler. There is no conversation. There is barely time for hi and bye. It’s hard. And to all my friends, just know I love you. I want to hang out, but ummm….can we do it at my house for awhile? Where my two year can be contained and I can attempt to chat without running after him. I promise, just give me a few years. LOL

So in conclusion… Yes, I LOVE my two-year-old. Yes, he's rambunctious and he's very active and I LOVE that about him. And I wouldn’t change it for the world. :)

Just bear with me. I am exhausted. I am a mom of a toddler. And he does run the show (sometimes).

If you have been there, done that - Please like this post and send me a message.

We have to stick together you know?! :)

Side note:

I'll never forget what my sister-in-law told me. She said - Guess what? It's the first seven years. So just keep in mind that when they get to the 7-year mark it gets better. And then she laughed (a little too gleefully I might add) - She understands. She completely gets it. And I love her for it.

From one exhausted Mama to another - signing off! :)
