Ain't nothing like your Mama's cookin'

When you sit back and think for a moment of your childhood.  Favorite memories, favorite parties, friends, family… in my family the common denominator was food.  There was not a single celebration without good home cooked food. Mouth watering recipes that my Mom, my aunts and my grandmother used to whip up in no time. Recipes that they knew so well there was never a need to even write them down.

Oh, so good. I get hungry just thinking about it! Weddings, family reunions and 4th of July especially.  Wow! What a feast my family would put on. Ham biscuits (with biscuits straight from Culpeper's very own Knakal's Bakery), meatballs, potato salad, chicken, deviled eggs, veggie trays, Watergate salad... I could go on and on.  You couldn’t beat the variety and taste!

If you are anything like me it’s now a very rare and special treat when you get to experience food that taste like this anymore.  A good home cooked meal is hard to come by.

Treasure the memories and treasure the food! And if you can convince some of those relatives to write down the recipe for you - hold on to it tightly. I want to say a million thanks to my sweet family for handing down the best of the best.  I love you all!
